Aicopack

For licensed insurance agents

An insurance agent email signature with your licence number

Some states require your licence number on the emails, cards and quotes you send. California spells it out; here is what its rule says, and how Aicopack's signature carries the number.

California: the licence number in your emails

California Insurance Code section 1725.5(c) requires licensees to include their licence number in emails that involve an activity a licence is required for.

  • No smaller than the largest phone number, street address or email address in the email.
  • Next to, or on the line below, your name or title.
  • For an organization's email, next to or below the organization's name.

California: cards, quotes and print ads

Section 1725.5(a) also requires the licence number on business cards, written price quotations and print ads distributed only in California: at least as large as any phone number, address or fax number, or 12-point type (8-point on business cards), whichever is larger.

Section 1725.5(b) requires the word “Insurance” on the same items, at least as large as the smallest phone number, or 12-point type (8-point on cards), whichever is larger.

Rules differ from state to state. Check with the insurance department in each state you're licensed in. This page describes California's rule; it isn't legal advice.

Aicopack's email signature

Aicopack builds a signature from your profile: your name, title and photo, your phone and email, a link to your page, and a licence line from the first licence you entered with a number (its state, line and number), or your NPN.

Copy it into Gmail or Outlook. Check the size and placement against your own state's rule: Aicopack doesn't check your signature for you.
