How to check an insurance agent's license in Wyoming
Before you share details with an insurance agent in Wyoming, check their licence on the official record. It takes a minute and doesn't need the agent's help.
The official lookup
Wyoming's insurance department runs its own licence search. The NAIC's directory links to every state insurance department.
What to search
Search by the agent's name, their licence number or their National Producer Number (NPN). Ask the agent for the number; a licensed agent can give it straight away.
What the record should show
- The same name the agent gave you.
- An active licence in Wyoming, if they're selling to you there.
- The right line of insurance: life, health, property and casualty are separate.
If the record doesn't match, don't go ahead. Wyoming's insurance department takes reports.
